KNI Projects
KNI has a wealth of experience in the installation of combined fibre UTP and voice cabling networks, having installed in excess of 250,000 metres of fibre cable and 1,200,000 data outlets within Northern Ireland alone. Some of the most prestigious and complex projects worthy of note are listed below:
George's Quay RBS
KNI has recently completed a major expansion of Ulster Bank's headquarters in the heart of Dublin City. The new block is equipped with over 7000 SYSTIMAX Cat6 outlets and intercabinet links. The SYSTIMAX visi-patch distribution network is supported by extensive voice and fibre backbones to link the new block to the existing buildings. KNI completed the installation 3 weeks ahead of schedule. KNI currently supports RBS and Ulster Bank by maintaining all 288 sites in Ireland under a Managed Services Contract.
The Queen's University of Belfast
KNI has been one of the University's approved specialists for over five years. During this time over 20,000 ADC Krone Cat5e and Cat6 outlets have been installed along with associated Fibre and Voice backbones. The Estates department is involved in an ambitious building refurbishment and expansion program and KNI has recently completed significantly sized projects at the Medical Biology Centre, Guidance, Students Union, Pathology, David Kier, ECIT, Physical Education Centre and Ashby.
Citigroup
KNI completed a full Structured Cabling installation at Citigroup Headquarters, White Star House, in Belfast's Titanic Quarter. The 4000 Cat6 points were installed to Citi's demanding specification. The design is based on maximum system availability and a highly engineered resilient infrastructure design. The specialized 'Blanett' APF frame infrastructure were used and the site is fully covered by the SYSTIMAX application warranty programme.
Ulster Hospital
KNI is currently involved in a long term contract to design and supply a campus wide fully integrated data network for the new Ulster Hospital. This program has already seen the units at Maternity, Renal, Care of the Elderly, College of Nursing, and Critical care being completed. The Cat6 installation integrates full Building Management Systems, Data and Voice services. The OM3 Fibre backbones provide full resilience and interbuilding connectivity. KNI has been responsible for maintaining the complete network during the complex building phases.
Seagate Technology, Springtown Production Plant, Londonderry
Seagate is one of America's leading technology and manufacturing companies with a major facility at Springtown in Derry. KNI installed a unique SYSTIMAX Plenum network into some of the most challenging working environments including Clean rooms, plating areas, testing bays etc. The installation comprises more than 10,000 SYSTIMAX CAT6 Plenum outlets installed over several buildings. This network is state of the art from a design point of view and will support Seagate's requirements for years to come. This is a specialized 2071 Plenum site.
HML contact centre
Design, build, fitout of a 450 seat centre from building shell. Full restaurant fit out, managers offices and 2 x boardrooms inc multimedia facilities.
HCL Apollo call centre
Refurbishment and fitout of 800 seat call centre and design of managers office and training rooms.
HCL Armagh
refurbishment and fit out of 600 seat contact centre
Fold Housing
Fitout of new corporate premises for 80 users, refurbishment of existing site.
GEM Belfast and Derry sites
Install and remodelling of furniture layouts to 650 seat site.
GEM Lesley Exchange
Final fit out works to accommodate 360 agents including bistro facilities, desking, seating and IT services (UPS, Cabling and electrical works)
BT Riverside Tower (Belfast)
Within BT's Northern Ireland commercial headquarters at Riverside Tower, KNI installed over 10,000 Krone UTP outlets, supported by resilient blown fibre backbone infrastructure. Stretching over 13 floors, BT Riverside Tower is one of Belfast's most recognised landmark buildings.
